
NNAS - Bronze Award
The aim of the Bronze Level award is to be able to plan and follow routes in the countryside using paths and tracks. The maximum staff to student ration is 1:6 allowing for dedicated time with each student. The course will last a minimum of 10 hours over 2 days with an assessment in the afternoon of day two. The assessment will involve a walk of approximately 3 to 5km. The topics covered at this level include map symbols, scales and grid references, map orientation, 'thumbing' (use of your thumb to track progrss on a map) and 'handrail' navigation (following features on the ground to lead you to a destination, be that a mid point or the end point of your route). The course can be organised outside of the dates detialed below.
The fee for this two day course is £95 per person
